Although the congregation may be small, the First Presbyterian Church is pushing to do big things. On Sunday, Nov. 24 they are hosting a community meal at the Parker Community Building. The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will consist of four types of soup and sandwiches including chicken noodle, tomato, chili and cream of potato soups and turkey, ham and roast beef sandwiches.
Pastor Dylan VanMeveren explained that the church is doing this purely to serve and to build friendships.
“A big thing to me is to serve without expecting anything in return,” said VanMeveren.
Any donations received during the meal will go to the student lunch debt at the Parker School.
VanMeveren said that everyone is welcome to join them for Sunday’s meal.
