The Parker wrestling team managed to repeat as conference tournament champions last week, placing four wrestlers as champions and 10 others in the top four on their way to the championship.
Leading the way for the Pheasants was Zanto Centeno at 145 as champion, Charlie Patten at 195 as champion, Levi Wieman at 220 as champion and Geoff Dunkelberger as champion at 285. Alek Kuchta was third at 106, Riley Pankratz second at 113, Michael Even second at 120, Andrew Even second at 126, Hudson Eldeen third at 132, Connor Even third at 138, Jack Even fourth at 152, Jake Stone third at 160, Logan Bridges fourth at 170 and Zaul Centeno second at 182.
“Great day for the Pheasant wrestlers,” said coach John Silvernail. “Our seniors now have won back to back tournaments. Levi Wieman got a big win in the finals against a very tough wrestler from Flandreau. All of the Pheasant varsity wrestlers made the placing round and earned four individual championships.”
Parker now looks to Tri-Valley on Friday, Feb. 12 and the post season, which begins Saturday, Feb. 20.
