Wrestlers face stiff competition at EPJ

The Parker wrestling team traveled with limited numbers to Elk Point-Jefferson last weekend facing some of their fiercest competition to date. Parker placed five wrestlers and finished ninth as a team.

“We wrestled well at EPJ. We only brought down seven wrestlers due to sickness and injuries,” commented coach John Silvernail. “We had five of the seven place. Levi Wieman wrestled in the championship against a wrestler from Canton. Levi continues to take steps in the right direction. Dylan Buseman is our next highest place winner with third place at 113. Buseman wrestled well all day and is continuing to figure out how to wrestle at this level. Alek Kuchta took home fifth place after the other wrestler injury defaulted out of the tournament. Kuchta has improved every single year in this program and is doing well this year. Michael Even and Wyatt Rand both wrestled into sixth place. We are excited to see how the team is coming along and can’t wait to put on a show at the MCM tournament on New Year’s Eve,” said Silvernail.
