The Parker 10U softball team ended their season as the Southeastern League Champions!  The League tournament was held July 11-12 in Viborg.  During the tournament, Parker first faced off against Canton.  Canton jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead.  However, Parker was able to rally with five runs in the second inning and go on to win the game 5-3.

Next up in tournament play was Centerville.  Parker wasted no time jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead.  Their defense held strong as they went on to win the game 4-2, advancing them to the championship game.

Parker faced off against Elk Point Jefferson in the championship match.  Parker fell behind 3-0 after the first inning.  They again stepped up playing solid defense.  However, despite a late game rally, they fell 4-2.

During the final match, Parker wasted no time and jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead.  The team continued their strong defensive play and never looked back, securing the championship with a 4-1 victory.

The 10U softball team ended their season with a 8-5-1 record.

Coach Jibben commented, “These girls worked hard and played with a lot of heart all year.  The team faced adversity from the beginning of the season with having just 11 players on the roster and eventually losing one player to injury (non-softball related).  The team stuck together and battled through each game.  If anyone deserved to win the championship, it was this group of girls!”
