Athletes to compete in 3-Class Shoot Out

Troy Schwans | Writer

After a year’s absence, due to Covid-19, the 33rd Annual First Dakota National Bank 3-Class Shoot Out will be held again. The annual high school all-star basketball game will be in Salem this Saturday, March 27, at the McCook Central Auditorium.

Premier senior athletes from all three classes from across the state will converge on Salem as the classes will compete against each other. There will be both boys and girls teams, six all together – Boys Class AA, Girls Class AA, Boys Class A, Girls Class A, Boys Class B and Girls Class B.

Beginning at 2 p.m. the Girls Class AA All-Stars will take on the Girls Class A All-Stars. The winner of that game will then take on the Girls Class B All-Stars at 3:30 p.m.

On the boys’ side, the Boys Class AA All-Stars will open against the Boys Class A All-Stars at 5:15 p.m. with the winner of that game challenging the Boys Class B All-Stars at 7:00 p.m.

A fan favorite, the “dunk contest”, will be held between the two boys games, at approximately 6:30 p.m.
