Canistota

Carol Lynn Lambertz was born on Jan. 26, 1947, the first-born of Orval and Nona Lambertz, in Dolton. The family later moved to Canistota, while there, Carol attended first—12th grade, graduating high school in 1965.

After high school, Carol married her high school sweetheart, Glen Jorgensen. They adopted two boys, Jeffrey and Michael Jorgensen. Years later, after the adoptions, Carol decided to attend Augustana University in Sioux Falls. There, she graduated (summa cum laude) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and English. While studying at Augustana University, she met her present husband, Riley Lee Williams of Chicago, Ill. They married on Dec. 31, 1990.

Carol leaves behind her husband, Riley; two sons, Jeffrey J. Jorgensen, Michael W. Jorgensen, step-daughter Tiana Dingert, in-laws, Leny Jorgensen, Kia Dingert, four grandchildren, Miranda Jorgensen, Blake Jorgensen, Michael Zimmerman, Nicolas Zimmerman, three great grandchildren, brother John (Nina) Lambertz, sisters Cindy (Chip) Fischer, Julie (Wayne) Gregory, and Colleen (Jo) Lambertz, sister-in-law JoAnn Lambertz, brother-in-law, Les Hagen, step-sisters Charlotte (Joe) Volden, Debbie Heitzman, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Nona Lambertz, one brother, Charles Lambertz, two sisters; Renee Hagen, Teresa Lambertz, and recently passed step-mother Betty Lambertz. Rest now Carol, you’ve done your job on the earth. I believe God is pleased with your work. He is saying “Well done, Carol, Well done.” She had a very good life, full of laughter, self-fulfillment and bingo.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Canistota Cemetery near Canistota.

Funeral arrangements provided by Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem, Hartford, and Madison.
