The Parker girls basketball team met up with Bon Homme last Tuesday night, but came away with a five point loss. Parker kept it close throughout but the Cavaliers were able to pull away in the final stretch.
Bon Homme jumped ahead early in the first and held on for a 13-8 lead after one. Parker finally came to life in the second, running off six straight points from Janae Olson and Cierra Mohr. Both teams traded baskets from there and with Parker trailing by two, Terryn Fuller hit a buzzer beater to knot the game at 22-22 at the half.
Bon Homme started to pull away in the third period, pushing a lead to 10 and prompting a Parker defensive switch.
The Pheasants then made a furious rally of their own, rattling off 11 points thanks to threes from Lexi Even and Mohr. The Pheasants managed to pull back within one, 37-36 after three.
Parker could get no closer down the final stretch, as Bon Homme answered every Pheasant point, going on to edge the host team 54-49.
Leading Parker was Even with 14 points and Mohr with 13. Janae Olson also had seven points and 11 rebounds.
Up next the Pheasants, now 1-7, host Freeman.
