Leberman qualifies for State Cross Country Meet

Parker participated in the Region 3A Cross Country Meet in Lennox on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Coach Derek Sattler said he was proud of his team, as all the runners opted to compete at the varsity level. The varsity girls kicked off the day with their 5K race. Josie Leberman qualified for the State meet, which will take place next Saturday in Rapid City. She ran her best time of the season, 21:38, finishing in 20th out of 49. Macy Kippes and Tayler Coleman fought hard and finished in 47th and 48th with times of 26:24 and 26:30, respectively. Saige Lessman braved the 5K for the first time and finished in 49th in 28:02.
The boys 5K had 50 runners. Jamie Bleyenburg gave his all, finishing in 39th with a time of 20:21. Lincoln Kippes had a strong finish and crossed the line in 40th in 20:22. Jevin Erickson ran a 21:01 and finished 44th. Alek Kuchta and Colten Preheim gave the 5K a try for the first time and ran well, finishing 46th and 49th with times of 21:32 & 22:46, respectively.
All the athletes had a great season that they can certainly be proud of! Congratulations and best of luck to Leberman at State!
