LeRoy Arnold Ebeling was born June 20, 1943 at Sioux Valley Hospital to Lloyd and Alvina Ebeling. LeRoy attended school in Monroe and played basketball for the Wooden Shoe Canaries until he graduated in 1961. After graduation, he attended school at Huron College. He worked at Sioux Steel and Montgomery Wards, both of Sioux Falls, before going to work for John Morrells.
Throughout all of this, LeRoy was able to continue doing what he enjoyed the most which was farming with his dad, and eventually his son and grandson.
He was united in marriage to Lois Jongeling on Feb. 8, 1963 and to this union was born four children; Jackie, Katherine, Karen and John. In the 1980s, LeRoy and Lois formed JDE Trucking and LeRoy drove over the road for many years, with his son, John, later joining him.
LeRoy’s greatest love was family, farming and antique tractors. You could often find him attending his grandchildren’s many activities. Anything from sporting and school events to tractor pulls, he was always there. He and Lois had spent the last several winters camping near San Antonio, Texas.
He is survived by wife Lois, daughters, Jackie (Curt) Lukes, Parker; Karen (Chris) Giles, Madison and son John (Sarah) Ebeling, Monroe along with grandchildren Laura (Neil), Kyle (Hannah), Katie (Derek), Jacob, Joshua, Jessica, Jennifer, Jason, Anna and Emily.
