Parker Blue wins two more

The Parker Blue 11/12 team had a busy week last week posting two more wins in regular season play and gaining momentum before the league tourney. In their first game of the week Parker welcomed Canton Meister to Parker and ran away with a 16-5 victory. The Pheasants held the C Hawks scoreless in the first three inning while putting up 11 runs. Levi Rand, Colin Robertson and Tyson Tycz all scored in the first inning while Rand, Robertson and Benson Jones all scored in the second. A big third inning was led by Colton Davis, Marquice Bortnem, Dylan Dykstra, Robertson and Tycz who all scored pushing the lead to 11-0. The defense did slip in the top of the fourth, but another five run inning in the bottom ended the game due to the 10-run rule, with Parker going on to get the victory 16-5. Leading Parker was Tycz who drove in six runs. Rand started the game for Parker on the mound going three innings and striking out three. Robertson also smacked one home run on the day.

In their second game of the week, Parker traveled to Canton to face off against Canton Ancell. Parker took one of their biggest wins of the season, taking the victory 20-2. It was a sluggers night as the Pheasants as a team scattered 21 hits and had two home runs, both from Tycz. Drew Chester, Rand, Jones, Robertson and Rush Bleyenberg all collected multiple hits on the night as the Pheasants put up eight run in the first and never looked back. Pitching for Parker was Robertson, Tycz, Kaden Fosheim and Dykstra.

“It was a great week,” said head coach Shane Merrill. “We got several kids in new positions and that’s always fun to see. These guys are firing on all cylinders now and are hungry for this league tournament, so we will see how it all plays out.”

Parker next played in the league tournament.
