The Parker Pheasants hosted the Parker XC meet at ParMar on Wednesday, Sept. 30th. It was a challenging day competing against the strong South Dakota winds, but the Parker team had a successful day with all seven runners bringing home a medal! Jamie Bleyenburg started the meet off by placing 15th out of 30 runners in the Boys Varsity 5K. The wind didn’t hold him back as he brought in his best time of the season, 20:44. The Boys JV 4K was dominated by Parker with Lincoln Kippes winning gold in 17:50 and Jevin Erickson coming in 2nd, just a step behind in 17:51. Alek Kuchta ran his best time this season, finishing in 19:25 in 6th place. Colten Preheim finished in 9th out of the field of 16 with a time of 20:05. Our JV Girls 4K runners kept the excitement going as Tayler Coleman won silver with a time of 21:27 and Saige Lessman finished 8th in 24:45. Our Jr High boys got to take part in something new the following day and ran in a JH 3K race in Menno. Jevin placed 2nd in a time of 12:15. Alek grabbed 3rd in a time of 12:44 and Colten wasn’t far behind, finishing in 5th. The team travels to Volga for the BEC Conference meet on Thursday, Oct. 8.
