The Turner County Charity Youth Pheasant Hunt was held at Wings of Valor Lodge on Saturday, Oct. 30. Fifteen youth hunters participated in the event from Viborg, Hurley, Marion, Montrose and Parker.  The youth hunters harvested 13 rooster pheasants.  This group of young hunters showed what they had learned at the Hunt Safe course.  They were safe and accurate in handling their gun and were very respectful of their fellow hunters.  Byron Nogelmeier, President of the Turner County Charity Youth Pheasant Hunt, stated that it was a pleasure to have these young boys and girls participating in the pheasant hunt. He also wanted to thank all the chaperones who helped out that day.  We were also thankful to Wings of Valor Lodge for allowing us to use their facility for the Youth Hunt.

That evening the youth hunters and their families, along with the public, were entertained by country music artist Darryl Worley from Nashville, Tn. He gave an outstanding performance and no one there was disappointed.

Nogelmeier stated that because of the concert and the hunt, the Turner County Charity Youth Pheasant Hunt organization gave $7000.00 to Wings of Valor Lodge to help them with their cause of helping our nation’s veterans and active military.
